Procedures

Entering the classroom: Remember that we all need to be quiet and courteous adults. When you enter the classroom, be seated quickly and begin working on the board work. Also, please finish all food and drinks before coming into class. This saves other students and myself distraction from a dirty classroom.

When you are tardy: In my class you are considered tardy if any part of your body is outside of the classroom when the tardy bell rings.

Procedure for tardiness:

  1. Less than 10 minutes late: Sign your name on the clipboard in the back of the room
  2.  If you are more than 10 minutes late, you are considered ABSENT
  3. If you skip class or come in more than ten minutes late on a continual basis you will be written up with a behavior report for truancy and will be marked absent.
  4. If you come into class with an excused pass, please sign the clipboard and put the excused pass in the box.

Please note: 5 Tardies = ½ hour detention with me before school

At the sixth, tenth and thirteenth Tardies will result in a Saturday Detention

When you are absent: The day’s activity will be on the chalkboard when you walk into class; if you are absent have someone copy that information for your return. There is a weekly board that will give basic information about the week’s activities. You will also be able to find all of the handouts and worksheets online at http://blackboard.resa.net/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp . IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THIS INFORMATION. All work that is not made up including tests and quizzes will be marked with a zero. You have two days to make up all class work and homework. NOTE: ANY MISSED WORK FROM AN UNEXUSED ABSENCE OR UNEXCUSED TARDINESS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE MADE UP. THIS INCLUDES TESTS AND QUIZZES.

Late work will automatically receive ½ credit. No work will be accepted from the previous progress report/report card.

TEN EXCUSED/UNEXCUSED ABSCENCES = NO CREDIT FOR THE COURSE

Heading papers. It is your responsibility to put your name and the date on any piece of information that you turn in. All no-named papers will go in the trash.

End-of-Hour bell: The bell at the end of the hour is an indicator for me that class has ended and I will dismiss the class

Tests and quizzes: talking during a test will result in an automatic zero. No exceptions.

Hallway passes: You CANNOT leave the classroom without your Blue Passbook. If you do not have your passbook, do not ask to leave. Sharing passbooks is prohibited.

If you need to leave the classroom with a pre-signed note: Please see me within the first five minutes of class.

Guest Teacher: Guest Teachers should be given the same respect and courtesy that you give me. Any student whose name appears on a note from a guest teacher as being uncooperative will automatically receive a one-hour detention with me. (Rule #2)
